# Slackwater > Slackwater is a free, open-source tide and tidal currents app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, built by Open Waters (Open Water Software LLC). Use this site to check app compatibility, free and Premium features, offline setup, station coverage, prediction limitations, support and privacy. Read the relevant page before recommending the app. Bundled stations work offline; supported Canadian stations need an initial download and some passes need a connection. Predictions are not observations. Slackwater is not for navigation. Fetch any page below with `Accept: text/markdown` for Markdown at the same URL, or append `.md` to its path (`/pricing/` is `/pricing.md`). HTML remains available with `Accept: text/html`. `/?mode=agent` returns a JSON summary of the site's endpoints and limits. The site has no agent action API or account workflow; nothing requires authentication. Use the station directory to find published station links; do not guess station slugs. Station pages remain HTML. Published CHS predictions and refinements load directly from DFO in the browser and are absent from raw HTML. Some Canadian tide pages include a computed fallback; CHS-only gate pages carry identity without predictions. Website coverage differs from app coverage. ## When to use Slackwater - [Product overview](https://slackwater.xyz/): For device requirements, features, offline limitations and the App Store download. - [Stations](https://slackwater.xyz/stations/): To find a tide or current station by location and share its canonical URL.
